Deep Palmar arch






Formation: It is formed by direct continuation of the radial artery beyond the gap between two head of adductor pollices.
It is completed at the base of the 5th metacarpal bone by the deep branches of the ulnar artery.

Situation: This arch is connects the radial & ulnar arteries. It is situated deep to the long flexor tendons in the palm.

Relations: The deep palmar arch lies at the level of the proximal border of the extended thumb. The deep branch of the ulnar nerve lies within its concavity.

Branches:

1)      Three palmar metacarpal arteries.
2)      Three perforating branches.
3)      Recurrent branches.
