Definition:
The wrist (radial-carpal) joint is a synovial joint formed by articulation of
the distal end of radius and the triangular articular disc with the scaphoid,
lunate & triquentral.
Type:
Synovial ellipsoid joint.
Fibrous capsule and ligament:
Fibrous capsule enclose the joint and is lined by synovial membrane, which is
attached to the margins of the articular surafces. Fibrous cpasule is
strengthened by palmar radio-carpal and ulno-carpal, dorsal radio-carpal and
radial ulnar collateral ligaments.
Nerve
supply: Anterior and posterior interosseous
nerve.
