Aeroplane splint

Principle:

1. -          Maintains the shoulder in abduction and external rotation.
2. -          To immobilize a shoulder during healing from injury, such as a fractured humerus, or shoulder surgery.

Indication:

1. -          Erb’s palsy.
2. -          Rupture of supraspinatus tendon.
3. -          Paralysis of the deltoid.
4. -          Abduction fracture of the neck of the humers.
