Typical intercostals nerve




Definition (Typical intercostals nerve): Anterior primary rami of 3rd to 6th thoracic spinal nerves, which supply only to the thoracic wall, are called typical intercostals nerve.

Number: Typical intercostals nerves are four in number.

Functional component:

1)      General somatic afferent.
2)      General somatic efferent.
3)      General visceral afferent.
4)      General visceral efferent.
