Group-A

Q: No: 01: a) Define protein and classify it on the basis of the structure and nutritive value.

b) Define buffer. Name two physiological buffers and discus the mode of action of any buffer.

c) Give the structure of the cholesterol and give its function.

d) What is Disaccharide? Name of them which one which one is non reducing and why?

Q: No: 02: a) Define enzyme. Discuss the important factors affecting enzyme activity.

b) Write down the important food sources of vitamin D and give the pathway for the production of active vitamin D from the sunlight.

c) Define Hormone and classify it on the basis of composition and mode of action.

d) Write short notes on: (any two): i) The difference between the Kwashiorkor and the Marasmus ii) The vitamin which acts as an antioxidant iii) Acromegaly

Group-B

Q: No: 03: a) what is isoenzyme? Give the isoenzymes of LDH and CK. Give their clinical significances.

b) Define metabolism and classify it. Why Glycolysis is considered as a catabolic process?

c) Write down the pathway of the TCA cycle and also mention of its regulation.

d) Write short notes on (any two): i) Mucopolysaccharides ii) The significances of the urea cycle iii) The expenditure of the aerobic glycolysis

Q: No: 04: a) what is nuclei acid? Write down the difference between the DNa and RNA.

b) What is pH? Give the normal pH of the blood and saliva. Draw one pH scale and show this pH.

c) Draw one neuron and label it. Classify it on the basis of them function & structural categories.

d) Define balance diet. Give a balance diet for a pregnant/ lactating (mother).
